Strathean Retreat Centre

Strathean Retreat Centre is a spiritual retreat centre located on the Kapiti Coast, just 60 minutes from Wellington. We provide accommodation and catering where requested for up to 30 people in beautiful grounds with Totara forests to walk through.

Strathean Retreat Centre has a special energy as it has been used as a retreat centre for around 50 years. It was handed to new guardians in mid-2017 and we are in the process of enhancing all aspects of the property to enable all who come to have a beautiful experience of light and love.

Our accommodation is mostly in twin share or single rooms (with two rooms that each sleep 4). It has recently been refreshed with new beds, carpet, painting of the rooms and furniture, and new curtains. We can sleep up to 27, or 30 with the use of bunk beds. With prior notice camping or use of caravans onsite can also be accommodated.

We have a large workshop room, separate dining and a large kitchen. Many groups cater themselves, or we will cater for you. Please be in touch with any questions.

Venue Hire Cost: Minimum charge of $320 per night; or if more than 8 people then there is a charge of $40 per person per night, (or 24 hour period). There is also a day charge of $20 per person for those not staying overnight. Jyoti cottage which is fully self-contained and sleeps 4 is a separate charge of $100 per night for up to 2 people, then $50 per extra person. Cleaning is an additional charge of $180 for the whole venue (this can be reduced if the whole venue is not used). If you wish to hire bedding, it is an extra $20 per person per stay.
